Why is my first burn so important?

Soy wax has a memory. If the first burn does not reach the edge, the candle will tunnel down the middle for the rest of its life and you will lose a third of the wax. Give it two hours the first time.

Will it survive an Indian summer?

Soy softens around 45°C. We hold candle dispatch during heat advisories and pack with insulation from March to June. If yours arrives with a soft or uneven top, the scent and burn are unaffected — but tell us and we will replace it.
